The solar domestic water heating market in the Netherlands has experienced
strong growth in the 1990's. However, in 1999, 2000 and 2001 the growth flattened.
In 2003, the subsidy system was abandoned which is expected to bring about a decline
in the market. The industry is working towards some major changes in production
and installation methods to achieve cost reductions, in sales strategies and in
government legislation.
