| Summary:
After the first boom during the 80ies, the Italian solar heating market is
actually having a promising revival. Increasing political action and an active
market on the national as well as the European level provide the boundary conditions
which could finally confirm this positive trend during the next decade. The
Italian policy goals for the development of renewable energy sources include the
installation of 3 million m2 of collector surface installed in 2010. In order
to achieve this goal, the Italian market has to grow to 40 times its actual size.
This ambitious goal requires a major effort from all key actors, who will
have to support the market with specific actions, as for instance: - information
and promotion campaigns for multipliers and end-users
- education and training
programmes for installers and planners
- quality certificate schemes for
products and installations
- new long-running financial support programmes
-
reduction of regulative barriers in the building sector
