Summary: In Denmark the solar energy resources are fairly
good - actually better than in many other locations in Northern Europe. Since
the start of the 80's a steady subsidy programme has characterised the Danish
market. This has until the mid 90's caused a steady increase in the market, without
the "stop's and go's" as was seen in many other countries. However in November
2001 the new Danish government abolished the subsidy programme. The result of
this was that the market decreased to the same level as in the end of the 80ies.
In 2003 however a slight increase in the market has been reported. In
Denmark the Soltherm project has opened the website "Alt om Solvarme"
(Everything about Solar heating). The website gives information and news form
the Danish solar energy branch together with a comprehensive list of links.

In 2003, an analysis of the most important barriers for the Danish market
was published by Lotte Gramkow and Torben Esbensen. Click
